The calcined petroleum coke is used to produce prebaked anodes for aluminum smelting or graphite electrodes for steelmaking.
Low-sulfur, high-quality cooked coke, such as needle coke, is mainly used to manufacture ultra-high power graphite electrodes and some special carbon products; needle coke is an important raw material for the development of new electric furnace steelmaking technology in the steelmaking industry.
Medium-sulfur ordinary cooked coke is widely used in aluminum smelting.
